Comment: I follow Farrington (2012), no. 1.13 and p. 103 note 208 for the dating, with reference to a scholiast's remark on Theocritus IV and Moretti (1953), no. 115. An unattributed victor list which is attributed to Sextius Julius Africanus (Ol. 62) mentions Milon has having won six victories in wrestling at the Olympia, six at the Pythia, ten at the Isthmia and nine at the Nemea. Farrington is contradictory in his book about the Isthmian victories: stating at no. 1.13 Milo won 10 times the Isthmian Games and in his note 208 saying he won 6 times. I have followed the description of Africanus - PK/YP Won six times the Olympic games, six times the Pythian games, ten times the Isthmian games and nine times the games at Nemea (Eusebius; Iulius Africanus). Pausanias (6.14.5) nuances that Milon won six Olympic games, one of them in the boys-competition, and seven Pythian games, one of them in the boys-competition. Eusebius and Iulius Africanus mention Milon at the 62nd Olympiad (=532 BC). Moretti 1957, no. 122 reasons that this must be the first of his five Olympic games; his victory in the paides-category is dated to the 60th Olympiad (= 540 BC), but without argumentation. - DL If his second Olympic victory occurred in 532 BC, when he was perhaps about 20 (having been a παῖς of perhaps 12 years old in 540 BC), then it would highly unlikely to have won his sixth Olympic victory before 516 BC, when he was on this reckoning in his very late 30s. - EK
